CONGRATS

Qamel.

Welcome to Task 6 of Builders Corp. Series 2. This task requires you to create the 'nest' of an original creature of your fabrication. We don't want to see the creature. We are interested in seeing it's habitat.

There are a few restrictions this week:

  • We don't want to see any exterior builds - everything will be interior.

  • No use of light in this task.

  • Anything over wall height 2 will be cropped.

  • We aren't looking for gore.

MAX ROOM SIZE LIMIT:

7x5

Qamel is back to steal the crown. This creation is very unique. The palette is to die for and the details are quality work. The hieroglyphs took my breath away. That's a very smart use of group dividers. One of my tops this week.

This is quite gorgeous. Each time I look at it, I'm able to see more and more details. The hieroglyphics are stunning. You've stacked these furniture items incredibly well. This has to be some of the best stacking i've seen thus far. Your nest matches the overall story you fabricated. Your attention to detail and story-telling is invigorating. Very well done.

A gorgeous quirky room. The tone of this is very likable and the overall room has a unique aesthetic. I'm impressed with how this room has this noneucildian feel to it. I loved the inspired concept you had for this room. Another front runner keep at it.

I'm enamoured with the story-telling and creativity this evokes. Your build is nicely textured with appropriate furniture placement for the creature you created. A moth creature is very unique and the nest you decided to go with offsets the 'ugliness' I would imagine your creature possesses. I think the 'courtyard' feel to this is gorgeous. The colours and tone really work harmoniously. Good job!

Another marvelous room added to your collection. This room gets better and better the more you look at it. The organic meld of the walls, the logs under the cauldron, the roots seeping through. I do wish it had a more surreal/fantasy/non-human-ish feel to it but overall this is amazing work.

This was a more obvious take on the task this week. I think this holds a lot of prowess. You've incorporated so many aesthetically pleasing pieces in the design, that work very well with one another. The unorthodox shape of the room is beautiful. The aspect I like the most is the collaboration of furniture on the left hand side. The rocks combined with the roots of the trees and the orange leaves is nicely put. The falling leaves on the ground really tied it all together. Overall you played with some amazing technical details that elevated your build and tied the story together. Good stuff.

Oh this room is full on #mood. I love the play on different levels, showing both the outside and the inside. The roots spread around are my favourite detail of the room. This is phenomenal work. I can't find any faults here. One of my favourites this week.

I love this. The rain seeping through the hole in the 'nest', the fog swirling at the base of the hole. The damp, eerie vibe this build creates is stunning. You added some amazing aspects with all the roots and vines. I can picture your creature living in this environment. Everything we wanted from this task, you gave us. You should be very proud of the results. Articulate thinking and great attention to detail. Keep up the great work.

This did end up being quite different compared to the rest of the rooms due to your direction of cold ambiance. That wall is gorgeous. So many details hidden everywhere. The living quarters are quirky and the overall room is balanced and cohesive. My one issue is that, apart from the wall, I don't see as much work as the rest of the rooms here. At this point every designer is packed with talent and an overlook like that might be the reason you're eliminated.

I see the story you were going for. I think perhaps you went too literal. I absolutely adore the combination of rocks and textures in the wall. You stacked those very well, the bullet holes add this grungy decrepit vibe that I'm here for. I cant help but feel the armchair seems superfluous. I would have liked to have seen more than just a few staggered items to show the presence of your creature. Overall this is a great construction; however, the creature got lost in translation. I'm left wanting to see more.

A marvelous display of concept and story. At this point in the game the talent in cast is running high so it's hard to find bad rooms. This is why I have to be extra thorough in my critiques. What I'd fix on this is some minor composition issues. The thorns are a bit overwhelming. I think the edges on the top left part would have been more powerful without the zen/garden leaves. The bits of deep red on the right are also not meshing well with the rest of the palette. That aside this room shows skill, time and effort.

You really embraced the nature of this task. The burrow you created has the technical aspects we were looking for in the builds this week. The obvious point of entry being the hole at the top, the scattered fruit depicting the nature of your creature. You did a great job telling us the backstory of your creature. I do wish the use of the thorns wasn't as prominent. It engulfs what you've created and seeds attention away from some of your articulate stacking. Overall, you were able to tell a convincing story and this is a great build for this task!

CONCLUSION

This is arguably the best week we've seen in this competition thus far. The stories you were able to fabricate to inspire your builds, were better than we could have expected. Each of you deserves to be here in this competition. That being said we had to make the difficult decision to pick a winning build and a losing build this week.

Congratulations Qamel. you have taken over the leaderboard this week. Your build was incredible and we are so thrilled to be able to award you with first place this week. Well done. We are disheartened to see a builder go, especially at this stage of the competition. We say goodbye to tallmolly08, your efforts have been superb and we're glad you graced this competition with your talents. We can't wait to see what you do next!
